Language qualifications facing the axe are safe with Labour

The government’s recent chaotic changes to the exam system mean that some GCSE and A Level qualifications in languages including Gujarati, Punjabi, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Modern Hebrew and Bengali will be lost.

If we are to succeed as a country in a global 21st century economy – then we need a broad and stretching curriculum in our schools. There can be little doubt that the loss of these qualifications would be detrimental to that.

An incoming Labour government will save these subjects.
