On Thursday evening after votes on the Queens Speech I went sraight from the Commons to Ilford Community Centre in Eton Road for the Annual Christmas, Chanukah, Eid and Diwali event.
Over the last few years the event has grown in scope and complexity and it is now also supported by DFID and its “connections for Development” organisation and so we were also celebrating “Faith based organisations and international development” .
Inevitably the list of speakers has also grown and this year there were nineteen including myself my Ilford North neighbour LeeScott and two other visiting Conservative MPs.
It made for a very long day.
