Lib Dem hypocrisy and lies

Lord Browne  in his report on Student finance has  ruled  out a graduate tax and called for an end to  the limit on student tuition fees.  This is a deplorable proposal which will deter thousands of students from working and middle class families from applying to the best universities.  It will saddle them with tens of thousands of debts as fees rocket to £!0 or £12 thousand a year.  Lib Dem Business Secretary Vince Cable is backing these plans.

It is worth recalling the way in which  the Lib Dems lied about their intentions to get student votes.

In a press release published during the election on 28 April   Nick Clegg said:   “The Liberal Democrats are different. Not only will we oppose any raising of the cap, we will scrap tuition fees for good, including for part-time students. We can’t do it overnight, but we can start straight away with students in their final year - that means anyone at university this autumn will have their debt cut by at least £3,000. Students can make the difference in countless seats in this election. Use your vote to block unfair tuition fees and get them scrapped once and for all.”

We now know just how different the Fib Dems are.

Let those words come back to haunt every Lib Dem who now betrays their promise made in the NUS pledge which they all signed to oppose any fees increase .
