Remembrance meeting for Mumbai terror victims

On Thursday I was among the speakers alongside the High Commissioner of India, His Excellency Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, at a remembrance meeting for the victims of the Mumbai terrorist attacks held in Committee Room 10 at the House of Commons. In my speech I described these attacks as a crime directed not just against the people of India but also against understanding and co-operation between India and Pakistan and therefore a crime against British Indians and British Pakistanis too. I warned that what these vile terrorists want is for an extreme reaction which damages chances for successful diplomacy and achievements in the composite dialogue between India and Pakistan.
