Royal Mail's future

On Tuesday I met representatives of the Communications Workers Union to discuss the future of the Royal Mail and the possible threats of “privatisation” to the existing universal service obligation. A major report is due to be published in the next few days and I hope the government will listen to the public and the labour movement and resist any attempts to asset strip this vital public service.
